At TEK
we believe that seminars and workshops are a time-effective way of getting
the message across to others. The seminars are not only geared towards
improving performance and profitability but can be directed towards explaining
regulatory issues, especially European regulations effecting our industries.

EBN
Congress - 20th - 22nd June 2007 - Canterbury Cathedral Study Centre
The European BIC (Business and
Innovation Centre) Network is a non-profit making association based in
Brussels which represents Business Innovation Centres. The "Global
Innovation Bridges" EBN Congress was held in Canterbury from 20-22
June 2007.
This was the first time that
the Congress had been held in England in its 16-year history, and it attracted
370 delegates to Canterbury from 32 different countries, including Canada,
Russia and South Africa. They were also joined by a first-ever delegation
from the US, to coincide with Kents trade mission to Virginia while celebrating
the founding of the first English colony at Jamestown 400 years ago.
Kents bid beat stiff competition from various cities and capitals, including
Budapest, to act as hosts for the three-day event in partnership with
Technology Enterprise Kent.
A number of local organisations
worked in partnership to produce the event, including Kent County Council,
Technology Enterprise Kent, Canterbury City Council, Kent Tourism Alliance
and SEEDA. The event was hugely successful, both in terms of the
number of delegates that attended and the different countries represented,
but also in showcasing Kent as a prime location for SMEs looking to do
business internationally. The event also showcased Canterbury as
a business tourism destination, an area of the market which has not been
exploited until now.
